The next themes are those of justice and peace. Beginning with the former, we may observe that 2 Thessalonians spends considerable time reinforcing the notion that God is a God of justice who will, as it were, ensure that truth and justice win out in the end. Thus Paul writes to the Thessalonians that ultimately, despite the unfairness of the present age in their experience, God will relieve the afflicted and trouble the afflictors (2 Thess 1:6–7).
